Hey Gents,

As promised here's an update on the damage that happened to the Green Quad on Race Night.

100% Sure this is due to running at 40:1 and not using the engine shrouds.

Thought at first the piston might be salvageable but after seeing the inside of the barrel i don't think so lol. Ill be off to DDM for that...

Although this didn't happen at Race Night, I also found that pretty much the whole clutch ass. needs replacing.
- Clutch shoes are worn
- CLutch bell is warped/worn
- Pinion gear is worn (badly)
- Clutch bell bearing worn

Shame about the piston/cylinder & clutch/ pinion but at least you'll be set up ready for loads of riding! Might as well change up the chain and rear sprocket with it all! Oh and double up on the old oil portions fella, and get them shrouds on lol!!!

Yeah true buddy!

That BBK has lasted for years. Esp. considering its always been on 40:1! lol.

Ill be draining all the fuel tomorrow and remixing it at 30:1. Gonna check on DDM what a 29cc BBK and new Clutch Ass. will cost.

Already got a new chain and main sprocket, had than fitted for Race Night lol.

Just been on DDM to work out some prices (before discount Very Happy )

looking at £100 pounds for all the clutch parts and a standard 29cc BBK

OR

Pay £150 and upgrade that to an ESP Ported/Modified BBK

I think I know whats tempting me afro

Ouch, nice work!

I did a similar thing riding on dirt tracks with a crap air filter, luckily i only killed the piston, stuck a nickle coated one in and its been fine since, didn't help i had a G26 top end on a LH Bottom, so less cooling from the flywheel too! Still love that motor!

Ah damn. Wish I only had the piston to replace lol.

Mate I used to run a G23LH with an RC top end. That was an ace motor!

Thing is, i tried rebuilding an engine 29cc RC BBK with a G23LH bottom end recently, i started it up and it just fcuked the top end straight away? literally scored the barrel
