What Oil Ratio???
Evening Gents,
So I've got the list of parts ill be ordering from DDM tomorrow, just waiting to call Doug at ESP racing to chat about one of his ported/modified BBK's...
Before the next race night ill be re-installing my engine shrouds and draining the petrol out of all my 'Peds to correct the fuel/oil ratio.
SO
40:1 is too lean??? What say you all??
Thining of going to 30:1 or should I play it safe and stick with 25:1?

I'll have a go at tuning the carb bud.
Lucky for you I do have a Bigfoot engine mount spring. That's what you mean right?
Depends on the spindle mate, if you want top speed or acceleration?

25:1
Best spindle for a 23cc is nothing too big as they can't handle it. But as said above, you need to decide if you want a good pull away or top end, I used to carry a few and changed them as i wanted it's only a 3 min job.

Sounds like the needle isnt seating properly in the carb, allowing fuel to keep going past it. If its been stood up for any length of time you can get varnishing from old petrol in the carb which makes the needle sticky and can stop it returning.

Cleaned up with carb cleaner or something similar will probably sort it. I would strip and clean the carb but be careful not to lose the small needle return spring if you take the needle out. You can check the diaphram while you have the carb apart. They can go stiff and crusty eventually and wont operate the needle quite as it should.
